Transportation to MQU
Author - Shreeya Shakya
Hello everyone!!
Welcome back to our blog...
Today's blog is going to be about the transportation facilities to Macquarie University. Like most students, we are counting on public transport to get back and forth from the university. The main mode of public transport would be the trains which have just been updated into a metro. The trains are efficient and affordable for everyone including students.
The buses are also another means of transportation which can be used especially in cases where the trains are not available at specific destinations. Bus stops are easily accessible from the university grounds. Uni has made it easier to catch the buses by putting a timetable of the buses in different locations around the campus. Also for the students living in the Campus accommodation, Macquarie has it's own courtesy bus that runs after 4 pm every day until midnight back and forth from the university and Macquarie village.
All of these transportation systems share a common payment method called Opal which makes it easier to disembark a train and take a bus if needed. However, the government has recently updated the payment method to either Opal or even bank cards. There are different Opal cards for different age groups like concession for domestic students, adult cards for international students and adults while the child/youth card is for children below 18 years.
That's all for today's blog. Hope you guys enjoyed it. Stay tuned with us for more blogs on The Uni Lifestyle and do not forget to follow us on twitter @isys100mon4pmg1.
