Uni Societies @MQU Part 2

Author - Shreeya Shakya
Hey guys,
Welcome back to our blog. Today's drop is going to be the newest update on different societies that you can find in Macquarie University.

I am going to break today's topic in two sections :

  1. Country societies
  2. Activity based societies
Firstly, country clubs. What I mean by country clubs are the societies that represent the different countries like Nepal society which I am a part of. These clubs host events mostly dancing nights and food stalls to fund the club or help a worth while cause. They also hold meet and greet session where they provide you with your country's cuisine and can also meet people who are like you. Not only is there a Nepal society, there are many other societies that represent countries like the Sri Lankan society, Korean society, American society, Iranian society, Pakistani society, etc. that you can join even though you are not a citizen of that country.

In the activity based society, there are clubs like dance, volleyball, cheerleading, chess, quidditch, football, etc. that you might find interesting and consider to join. It is one of the many great ways to connect with like-minded people who share the same interest and passion as you. Both clubs and societies have information stalls during the start of semester so you can find out what they are all about and what kind of events they are offering. Although some might be free to join, most of the clubs will have a small amount of membership fee that contributes to cover the cost of member events during the year.

That's all for now. Hope you guys enjoyed the blog. Stay tuned with us for more amazing posts. Don't forget to follow us on twitter @isys100mon4pmg1.
